Compared to the Hallgarten Riesling the 2018 Hallgarten Hendelberg Riesling trocken, is brighter and more crystalline and slatey on the nose. On the palate, this is a pure, vital, nervy, vibrating and very refined Riesling with a charming kiss of unfermented sugar and serious grip. The wine is lean and elegant, cool rather than warm and reveals a tensioned and persistently salty finish. Tasted in April 2020.
