The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Ruchots 1er Cru is more introspective at the moment, with fine intensity, the fruit is darker than the Aux Chezaux, with hints of graphite in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, one of the "juiciest" Moreys that I have encountered with candied orange peel and spicebox on the finish. Superb.

From a parcel below the Clos de Tart, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Ruchots is one of the highlights of the Arlaud portfolio. Exhibiting notes of sweet red berries, licorice, potpourri, spices and baking chocolate, it's medium to full-bodied, with good depth at the core, lively acids and powdery tannins, concluding with a sapid finish.
