Mid lemon yellow with a slight green tint. Here the bouquet has a reductive tension which distinguishes it from all the other whites. The aromatics are growing beautifully as I keep sniffing. The fruit leaps forward on the palate, apples with ripe citrus, gracefully fleshed out, medium acidity but there is so much class in the long finish. Very stylish. Drink from 2026-2030.

The 2022 Santenay Blanc Les Gravières 1er Cru sports a tiny bit of reduction on the nose, but it is well-defined and certainly the most engaging of Jessiaume's whites. The well-balanced palate has a slightly waxy-textured opening and fine bead of acidity, with stem ginger enlivening the finish. Give it a few months after bottling before reaching for the corkscrew.
