Such a deep and subtle nose with great fresh pineapple fruit plus white chocolate, white pepper, Amalfi lemon and lemon curd complexity. Super-concentrated and super-focused on the compact, yet vibrant palate that’s right on the borderline of medium- to full-bodied. Enormous crushed rock intensity powers the super-long, very clean finish. Great aging potential. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Grüner Veltliner Kellerberg comes from the warmer, lower reaches of the Kellerberg, as the higher zones are reserved for Riesling. Slight yeast and ripe pear on the nose signal smoothness. On the palate, the pear dissipates to leave a sleek flow of white miso paste edged with white and green pepper. After that, citrus takes over to elongate these flavors on a very classy, smooth and concentrated body, once again tapering very elegantly to the finish. (Bone-dry)

The 2022 Dürnsteiner Ried Kellerberg Grüner Veltliner opens with a deep, pure, precise yet generous, dense, elegant, very seductive nose with ripe and lush fruit aromas intermingled with saline and flinty notes of crushed stones. Round and juicy as well as textured on the palate, this is a full-bodied, dense and generous yet elegant, finessed and perfectly balanced Veltliner with fine tannins and a long, aromatic and structured finish. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in April 2024.
