From the historic Hyde Vineyard in Carneros, planted by Larry Hyde in 1979. The Musque clone of Chardonnay is planted here among rolling hills, and this bottling is comprised of fruit from vines planted in 1992. Vintner Dan Petroski has pulled off a master stroke with this wine, which is so generous with its aromas as to be confounding. Honeysuckle and lemon oil, orange blossoms and beeswax. Linear, lean, and focused with power and intensity, unspooling its laser-like acidity with rounds of heady tart, succulent orchard, and stone fruits. Salty crushed almonds and honeycomb notes cap off a lengthy finish. Fresh, fragrant, and filled with tension.

This stunning version offers a vibrant and expressive mix of lemon curd, mango, mandarin orange and pineapple flavors. Showing details of candied ginger, tarragon, sea spray and litsea oil, this gains complexity and momentum on the finish. Drink now. 175 cases made.
