Experience was great. Fast service and came as ordered. Discovered Ontanon 2015 Reserva at their winery in Rioja, Spain during a recent visit and was very happy to find it available at B21. Some spiced rums are merely colored, not aged; but this nut-brown spirit is made from a base of rum aged for four years in oak barrels. With that context, the boozy and slightly Bourbon-like toffee aroma makes perfect sense. Needs a little time in the glass to open up the flavors, but the reward is a sweet, subtly clove- and ginger-spiced spirit with a bitter almond finish.
