Toasty/roasted aromas of molasses, black coffee and road tar begin the nosing stage, then bittersweet scents of oatmeal stout ale, licorice, dark cocoa, pipe tobacco and brown sugar take over. Palate entry is long, more sweet than bittersweet and dark chocolate-like; at midpalate, tastes of bacon fat, oak resin and brown sugar turn creamy. Finishes smooth, creamy and dense.

Opaque chestnut brown color. Vibrant and distinct aromas of brown sugar and maple syrup on oatmeal are attractive and follow through on a smooth entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with notes of baked bananas and dates. Finishes with a peppery molasses treacle candy, nutshell, and mossy mineral fade. Should make for interesting cocktails.
